A lot of professionals are obviously on LinkedIn and they frequently talk about the business that they're in and comment on each other's post. It gives really great insights into trends that are emerging and maybe haven't hit other research outlets like news outlets.

It's really easy to search posts for what professionals are talking about, especially if your clients are B2B (business to business) and serve professional clients. This strategy really gives you real time insights into what's happening in those industries for your clients' clients.

It can really add a lot of value, whether you're pitching stories or just want to get anecdotal evidence for stories that you've been assigned.
